Saturday Morning Yoga now requires registration
After working in corporate America, Selena decided to move on from the office environment to pursue a new career. She moved to Hawaii to study massage therapy and bodywork at The Maui School of Therapeutic Massage. The healing power of bodywork became her passion and led her on a four-year journey around the world; living, studying and working with different teachers, masters, and gurus on topics of bodywork, natural health practices, yoga, and vegan cooking and nutrition. In India she studied at the Sivananda Ashram and later completed Yoga Teacher Training with Chaitanya Das in Peru. She is passionate about sharing yoga as a way of life to help others feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually fulfilled.
Upon completing five years of service in the Israeli Navy Seals Unit, Kipi went on to study Wilderness Therapy. He worked with juvenile delinquents in Israel using sea and wilderness therapy as a treatment for a variety of issues, including substance abuse/addictions, depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, and motivation issues. He developed a unique program for youth called "ScubaTherapy" that was launched in 2016. His love and skill for working with youth grew and he went on to work with some of the world's leading youth empowerment programs in the US. Kipi facilitates the teen empowerment program "Take Root" at Organic Roots, teaches yoga for stress relief, and enjoys meditating while playing the Australian instrument, the didgeridoo.
Ruthanne was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. She traveled the world in her job and with her husband before settling in Suffolk. She is an avid gardener, wildlife enthusiast, golfer, traveler and artist. Her artistic passion is painting pet portraits.
Shortly after attending her first yoga class, Ruthanne knew she had found something special. She immediately wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others. She completed her RYT-200 instructor training through Yoga Alliance and has become an active yoga teacher in Suffolk.
Yoga has become her gift to the community and she is grateful to share her knowledge with everyone. She strives to make her classes accessible to all populations, from beginners to seasoned yogis. She excels at providing a caring safe relaxing environment, as well as a mindful practice that allows her students to shine both on and off their mats.
She believes in a balanced lifestyle that feeds her spirit. She feels it’s important to take time to be still. She endeavors to enjoy every moment of life. She believes that everyone is created with true self worth and tries to bring this out through positive words and actions. She finds it important to constantly create new dreams and goals. When she reaches one goal, she immediately finds another to pursue. She believes every sunrise is unique and filled with potential for a beautiful day!
