After working in corporate America, Selena decided to move on from the office environment to pursue a new career. She moved to Hawaii to study massage therapy and bodywork at The Maui School of Therapeutic Massage. The healing power of bodywork became her passion and led her on a four-year journey around the world; living, studying and working with different teachers, masters, and gurus on topics of bodywork, natural health practices, yoga, and vegan cooking and nutrition. In India she studied at the Sivananda Ashram and later completed Yoga Teacher Training with Chaitanya Das in Peru. She is passionate about sharing yoga as a way of life to help others feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually fulfilled.
Upon completing five years of service in the Israeli Navy Seals Unit, Kipi went on to study Wilderness Therapy. He worked with juvenile delinquents in Israel using sea and wilderness therapy as a treatment for a variety of issues, including substance abuse/addictions, depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, and motivation issues. His love and skill for working with youth grew and he went on to work with some of the world's leading youth empowerment programs in the US. In 2014 Kipi combined two of his passions, yoga and wilderness therapy and began Wild Yoga Retreats, facilitating Yogic Lifestyle Retreats in the wilderness with Selena. He also completed the Living Yoga Training program at the Satchidananda Ashram in Yogaville and continues a deep personal practice of a yogic lifestyle. He is passionate about sharing yoga with our youth and making yoga accessible for everyone.
Kelly Schaubach started practicing yoga in 1994. She obtained her 200 hour certification from the Kripalu Institute for Yoga and Health in 2000, 500 hour professional training from Kripalu in 2009, and became a Warriors at Ease Teacher shortly thereafter. She has taught yoga for several years. Her intention in guiding classes is always to create a sacred and safe place for anyone to inquire within and to gain balance in their life- physically, mentally and spiritually.
While working as a Case Manager at a center for Adults with disabilities, Sandy became ill with what would become a “mystery illness”. What began as Ebstein-Barr turned into an on going chronic condition with various labels; currently being Fibromyalgia. Finding herself not able to work, and the Medical Community puzzled; she turned to also seeking help from Natural Medicine. This journey of “mystery illness” lead Sandy to experience, learn and study various Natural ways to help manage and deal with this health condition. Mixed in with the frustrations and feeling unwell have been the “gifts” of this journey. These include her studies, trainings, and certifications that have come together into what she shares with others today. These studies were in Norfolk and Virginia Beach including: Barratt Breathworks, Therapeutic Conscious Breathing and Meditation, having roots in Yoga.(currently in Roanoke, VA) ; and Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, 1st level, at Inside Out Yoga Center with Anna Pittman, followed by a year long further deeper learning in Yoga traditions as a personal study for self help. (Anna Pittman is now in Blacksburg,VA , The Breathing Space). Sandy found comfort and help also from therapies in natural subtle energy life force flows (chi) and went on to train as a practitioner in two forms: Reiki I,II,III, Third Degree Lineage; and Bio-Energy with Mietek and Margaret Wirkus of Bio-Relax. She then shared what she learned for 8 years with individuals, working one on one, and with small groups in Virginia Beach, Suffolk, northwestern Suffolk area, Courtland, and at times in her home near Sedley, VA.
